Lab 6 Activity Overview For Lab 6 you will identify the 8 metamorphic rock samples based on observations of their texture and composition. The samples include the following metamorphic rocks: | Anthracite | Gneiss | Marble | Quartzite | | Garnet schist | Hornfels | Phyllite | Slate | Samples to Use for Lab 6 Collect the following rock samples: | SM-71 | SM-73 | SM-84 | SM-82 | | SM-72 | SM-75 | SM-85 | SM-81 | What to Do Next Use the Lab 6 worksheet (Figure 5.13) to record your observations and guide you through the identification process for each metamorphic rock. Refer to Figure 5.14 to help you match your observations with a name. Note that Figure 5.14 includes rocks that are not in your set.
