My Artifacts
I have carefully selected the following six artifacts and provided evidence to support the relevance of these achievements to my development as a nurse and the nursing profession.
Clinical Extern Badge
This badge is representative of my first personal exposure to the healthcare field, and shift work. I became a Clinical Extern while in the third semester at Fleming College. I gained valuable bedside experience and knowledge in a Medical Rehabilitation and an Integrated Stroke Unit and I later completed my RPN consolidation in Medical Rehab.
Practical Nursing Diploma
I earned my Diploma in Practical Nursing from Fleming College in June 2024 after two years of dedication and hard work. This signified the end of my Practical Nursing education and the beginning of my professional career as a nurse.
College of Nurses of Ontario Registration
This is the confirmation letter I received from the College of Nurses of Ontario to notify me that I was officially registered in the general class of Registered Practical Nurses and entitled to practice with no restrictions. This signified my transition from student to nurse.
Registered Practical Nurse Badge
My Peterborough Regional Health Centre badge is significant as this is my first place of employment as a Registered Practical Nurse. This accomplishment was very special to me, as I felt that I had achieved my goal of becoming a nurse. I was granted employment at PRHC in June 2024.
WERPN Membership
I became a member of the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario in September 2024. WEPRN supports RPNs like myself by providing liability insurance, educational workshops, community, and financial support for continued education.
Acceptance to Trent University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
This is my letter of acceptance to Trent University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The nursing profession emphasizes the importance of commitment to lifelong learning. This letter is reflective of my step first in continuing education and will aid in the development of my practice and knowledge.
