Unidentified Photographs

Unidentified Photographs 55 The message on the side of the postcard picture is: The following caption was on the back of the picture: Helen (Kirmse) Hacker attached the following note to the picture: Found this picture The”Grandma Kirmse Brother” was written by Aunt Martha. I wrote the “Adam Krause” because thats what I could make out of the writing on the front. It also has Hutschdorf so apparently his house was there. Discussion This Adam Krause was originally thought to be the name a half-brother of Barbara Kraus. However, the Hutschdorf church records give Barbara’s half-brother’s name as Johann Georg Kraus (See Chapter: Kraus – Hutschdorf Letter). Possibly the is a brother of Barbara Kraus’s husband, George Krauss. Look closely at the script on the card, Does the name end with some variation of a german script sharp S commonly known as a double-S or “ss”? Possibly someone can also help by transcribing and translating the rest of the message.
