Developing good search strategies and database introduction | | | 2:45-3:15 pm | Individual work time | | | 3:15- 3:45 pm | Module 3, : Reading and Evaluating sources | | | 3:45- 4:20 pm | Individual work time | | | 4:20- 4:30 pm | Wrap-up and questions | | Thursday, June 6 | 9:00 am-9:15 am Schedule- & Camp Deliverables Overview. | | | 9:15 am-9:45 am | Module 4: Putting the Pieces Together: Writing the Abstract, Identifying Key Points and Conclusions | | 9:50-10:20 am | Individual work time | | Break – 10:20-10:30 | | | 10:30-12:25 pm | Presentation tips & Module 5 Review of final project and intro to Google Slides and PowerPoint Individual work time | | Lunch Break 12:30-1:30 pm | | | 1:30- 4:00 pm | Individual work time | Poster Submission DUE BY 4PM | Submit your summer poster using the link below: | | Friday, June 7 | 9:30 am-12:00 pm | Poster Presentations Pope Edwards in rooms 115, 118, 312, 313 Teachers College 139 | Research Camp Project Requirements - Complete pre-evaluation assessment - Develop a unique research question based on their topic - Locate two articles that provide you with a good overview of your topic - Analyze at least two SCHOLARLY articles based on your research question using the “Scholarship as Conversation” sheet. - Individually create an abstract, identify key points, and a conclusion based on your research - Create final project - Complete post-evaluation assessment Final Project Individuals will prepare a poster on their topic in the form of one slide created in Google Slides or PowerPoint and will deliver a 2-3-minute presentation of their findings at the end of the camp. The presentation must contain the following required elements: - Title (you can be creative) - Name - School - An abstract including a research question - Key points or important facts from your article(s) - A conclusion and future research topics - Work cited list in MLA format Individuals will - Create a Google Presentation or Powerpoint slide - Posters are due by June 6, 2024, 4:00 pm
