Without a pan-Canadian licensure process, NPs are required to register through their provincial or territorial nursing regulators. Provincial & territorial nursing regulatory bodies protect the public and are designed to ensure that high quality care is delivered. Regulatory bodies are responsible for the following related to NP practice: - Setting entry to practice competencies - Standards of practice - Licensure requirements - Approving educational programs - Establishing continuing competence requirements[1][2]
