166 7.1 LTC Legislation
In Canada, LTC is one of the areas of health care that is neither publicly guaranteed nor insured under the Canada Health Act.[1] Health & health care jurisdiction is a shared responsibility between federal & provincial governments. LTC services are governed by provincial and territorial legislation and not a part of Canada’s universal health coverage model.[2]
