Often referred to as Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), personal care includes anything that a client needs to maintain hygiene, well-being, self-esteem, and dignity. ADLs are the foundation of health and wellness and a part of providing holistic care. The manner in which personal care is provided has a large impact on the quality of life for those unable to care for themselves. A professional nursing assistant provides these services proficiently while also respecting the preferences of residents. Care that a client needs to maintain hygiene, well-being, self-esteem and dignity, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
