4 Personal Values
Respect, humility, trust, and kindness are values that mean a lot to me and guide how I try to live my life. First and foremost, I believe respect is a two-way street. when someone shows me respect, I gladly return it. I also believe that respect is something that must be earned. If someone demonstrates actions or qualities that deserve my respect, I have no hesitation in giving it to them but on the other hand if someone does something to lose my respect, it’ll be very hard to gain it back.
Humility reminds me not to think I’m better than anyone else and to always stay grounded, knowing there’s always more to learn. I was always taught to stay humble from my parents and to never forget my roots. Trust I think is second in my most important values. Trust in any relationship is the glue that holds it together. Without trust, any meaningful connection will crumble eventually. Finally my most important value that I remember and use the most is kindness. The value of kindness like every other value I mentioned was drilled into me as I was growing up. kindness, to me, is about being there for others, showing empathy, and spreading positivity, even in small ways. Random acts of kindness like complimenting a stranger always seems to lift my mood up which makes make me wanna be kinder in general. All these values shape how I treat others and how I hope to be treated in return.
