3 Honesty
Honesty is a vital value in the nursing field as it establishes trust and relationships between the nurse and the patient as well as the patients’ families. Patients require nurses to be truthful about their outcomes, treatment, and options which leads to them being able to make a decision. Honesty is what helps patients decide as it improves patient safety and quality since issues are being addressed in full truth. Furthermore, honesty will help me as a nurse by being able to tell the truth about my mistakes and continuously learning and improving my nursing practice. By upholding honesty, I can build relationships with my patients and maintain a good healthy lifestyle for myself.
