The apron is a historic staple in the family and consumer science classroom and curriculum. In 2021 the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) invited students and professionals to share an inspirational story about their apron, chef coat, or lab coat (“FCS Day 2021 Special Celebration Activities – American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences”, 2022). The committee selected professionals from around the country, one of which was this author. To watch the videos where professionals shared their “apron” story, check out this AAFCS page.
