4 Intermediate Chapter 2: My Future Learning Objectives By the end of this lessons, the students are expected to: - Develop an understanding of future planning and desires, - Create outline skills that reflect weaknesses and strengths, and, - Formulate future visions using the target language Vocabulary Future – a period of time that follows a moment that has not been happen before (e.g., I will become an artist). Unknown – not familiar Aspiration – a strong desire to achieve something higher or desire. Vision – a state of being able to see something and to think about future plan with imagination and wisdom. Uncertainty – state of not knowing. Essential Knowledge Some people living in the present dwell on their past; some people create their own future in the present, while many of them don’t really care about the future and consequences. Ultimately, the future is shaped by a combination of individual choices and different circumstances, making it a complex and ever- changing entity. It is important to acknowledge the role of uncertainty in the future, as it allows for adaptability and resilience in the face of unknown challenges. Moreover, knowing your goals in the future can help guide your present actions and decisions, ensuring that you are working towards your desired outcomes. By setting goals and having a clear vision for the future, can actively shape the path you want to take and increase the chances of success. Furthermore, what action people do in the present always affects the future; consequences are inevitable as decisions are made toward the goals and aspirations, as the future is a reflection of past and present. Activities General Instruction: Carefully read and understand the exercises presented and follow the directions for each activity. This will focus on improving your skill in the target language through conversational, technical, and creative exercises. Conversational Instruction: Share your plan for the future. The following are some guide questions. You may choose 3 question to answer or reflect for an organized reflection. - Do you have any interests or hobbies you’d like to pursue further? - What kind of living condition do you picture for yourself? - Are there any books, courses, or mentors you want to explore? - How are you going to monitor your personal growth progress? - Which values are most significant to you, and how do you want your life to be shaped by them? - What abilities do you wish to develop in order to progress professionally? - What kind of workplace do you think you would thrive in? Technical Self-reflection, sometimes referred to as “personal reflection,” is the process of reflecting on, analyzing, and considering carefully your actions, ideas, attitudes, drives, and aspirations. It involves going deeply into your feelings, motivations, and thoughts to find the big “why?” in their wake (Self-Reflection 101).
