20 Copying from a DEV or other Canvas Course
Copying from a DEV or other Canvas site is a valuable process that can save you a lot of work from one semester to another. However, it is crucial that you are copying into the correct course.

- Always make sure you are in the target course when you seek to copy information from another course. If you’re not sure, the information should be at the top left of any page in your course.
- From the target course, click on “Import Existing Content” on the right hand menu, and then “Copy Existing Canvas Course” from the drop down menu.
- From there, select the course you want to copy from, and whether you want to copy the whole course or just sections of it.
- You can adjust the dates for assignments to mirror new start dates, but it is wise to double check that for accuracy before publishing.
