Subjunctive Mood

Subjunctive Mood Jared Aragona Subjunctive mood: Use the subjective mood when writing of hypotheticals, imaginary scenarios, or suggestions. Hypothetical: If he were a more diligent student, he would perform better on tests. If Jonas were here, the presentation would flow more smoothly. Imaginary Scenario: If I were seven feet tall, I’d focus my life entirely on basketball. If she were any other animal but a human, she’d be a sloth. Suggestions: If the second paper were to be assigned at the end of the month, the students would be able to manage their time better. I suggest the graduates arrive after the families have sat down.
