26 Lab Exercise: Team Lead Icebreaker

26 Lab Exercise: Team Lead Icebreaker LAB EXERCISE: TEAM LEAD ICEBREAKER OBJECTIVE(S) In this lab exercise you will: - Reflect on individual and team performance for individual, as well as team, performance improvement (IPEC 2011, TT8). - Perform effectively on teams in different team roles in a variety of settings (IPEC, 2011, TT10). INSTRUCTIONS - As a team, research and/or create a Team Lead Icebreaker that can illustrate any aspect of interprofessional practice including values and ethics, roles and responsibilities, interprofessional communication, teams and teamwork, and conflict. - Co-write instructions for the activity include/answer the following questions - What are the Objective(s)? - CO-WRITEN 2 or 3 objective - “By participating in this icebreaker, you will…” - What is the Title of the icebreaker? - What is the Time that it takes to complete the activity? - - Activities that are completed in 15-20 minutes are recommended. - What Supplies needed for multiple peer teams to complete the activity? - Team leading the activity will bring the enough supplies to the meeting - Examples could be: tart (shower curtains), newsprint/giant Post-It Notes, scissors, clear tape, scarves (as blindfolds or flags), masking tape/Duct tape, markers, white paper, colored paper, index cards, construction paper, paper clips, safety pins, glue sticks, rubber bands, string/yarn balls, envelopes, and others - What is the Setting/special room arrangements? - What are the Directions for participants? - What are the Directions for activity leaders? - This may include a script - What are the Debrief Questions? - Offer 3-5 question for debrief and/or discussion - The questions should make the connections between the activity and interprofessional practice. - What is the Reference in APA format, if appropriate? RUBRIC: Team Lead Icebreaker | POINTS | CRITERIA | | 0-5 | Objectives are relevant to the activity and interprofessional practice as a team. | | 0-5 | Time for completion of activity is clearly identified | | 0-5 | Supplies are identified and available at time icebreaker is performed | | 0-5 | Room is suitable for activity and arranged appropriately by the team leading the activity | | 0-5 | Directions for the activity are clear to teams partaking in the activity | | 0-5 | There are 3-5 relevant Debrief questions that connect the activity to interprofessional practice as a team. | REFERENCE Interprofessional Education Collaborative Expert Panel.
