So my question is, would it be possible to write a protocol which does the same as the Internet Protocol, and if so, how do I get started? And don't say, "isn't the Internet Protocol good enough?", yes it is, it is just to see if it is possible:P I would like to know a bit more about how, just for learning how protocols are done. I have some experience in programming, but not anything like networking protocols.
