I'm trying to plot a world map using ggplot2. Here is what I have so far:

library(ggplot2)
world <- map_data("world")
ggplot(aes(long, lat, group=group), data=world) + geom_polygon()

This works well and is easy to do. Unfortunately, the world map data seems old. For example, countries like Singapore and Czech Republic are missing and instead there are regions like USSR. Any idea how I can get more up to date world map data?
