I expect the following code to render a drop down list with the third option selected by default. However, when I bind the select with angularjs, the default selection disappears. Any thought?

var myApp = angular.module('myApp', []);

...

  <select id="myselection" ng-model="selectedColors">
    <option value="1" >Red</option>
     <option value="2">Blue</option>
     <option value="3" selected="selected">Green</option>
  </select>

  <div>
    Selected Colors: {{selectedColors }}
  </div>
</div>
