is there a way to apply a query to each table in a mysql database?

Something like

SELECT count(*) FROM {ALL TABLES}
-- gives the number of count(*) in each Table

and

DELETE FROM {ALL TABLES}
-- Like DELETE FROM TABLE applied on each Table
