mysql get minutes between a datetime and NOW()

I'm trying to calculate how many minutes have elapsed between a saved DateTime and NOW(), how can I accomplish this?

SELECT ROUND((UNIX_TIMESTAMP() - UNIX_TIMESTAMP(datetime_col)) / 60)
