This section shows my collection of artifacts from getting my acceptance letter to the things I have gathered over the first semester. These all have had an impact and are things I want to keep.
The first artifact I would like to share is my admissions letter for the Trent School of Nursing Collaborative Program. When I received this email, I was overwhelmed with excitement and relief. I have spent so much time worrying about whether I would be accepted into nursing, so to see that I have been offered a spot in my dream program was a moment I will never forget. I knew I wanted to stay in my hometown and go to Trent University, so as a backup I applied for the Honours Biology Program. At the time I had been accepted into this program, but nursing had always been my true passion. To top it off, the letter included the incredible news of a $2,500 scholarship, which made the moment even more special. It was a validation of my hard work and a huge step toward my future.
I received my first stethoscope as a gift when I graduated from high school last year, and it was a moment that truly made my nursing journey feel real. Holding it in my hands for the first time, I was struck by a deep sense of accomplishment and realization that I was on the path to becoming a nurse. I had never used one before, but when I put it on, the experience felt surreal. Listening to a heartbeat for the first time through the stethoscope was an unforgettable experience, one that filled me with excitement and reinforced my commitment to my future in healthcare.
The second artifact I would like to share is my first scrub top. While it may seem like just a piece of clothing, it holds significant meaning to me because it has the Trent Fleming School of Nursing logo. This scrub top symbolizes the beginning of my journey as a nursing student and serves as a constant reminder of the hard work and dedication that has brought me closer to achieving my dream of becoming a nurse.
This is my first clinical badge, which I proudly wear during both lab and clinical sessions. Wearing it makes my journey as a nursing student feel all the more real. It symbolizes the transition from learning in the classroom to applying my knowledge in real-world healthcare settings, and it serves as a constant reminder of the responsibilities and the exciting path ahead as I move closer to becoming a nurse.
When I received my Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, I was filled with excitement and a sense of accomplishment. This was my first time taking a course of this kind, and it has always been something I was eager to do. The course provided me with invaluable knowledge and taught me life-saving skills that will be essential throughout my nursing career. It gave me my first real glimpse into the critical role I will play in saving lives. Although it was a bit intimidating, the experience boosted my confidence and prepared me to handle high-pressure situations in the future. I now feel more equipped and r
