The third artifact that contributed to me wanting to become a nurse is my mother. There was a specific day that I realized I wanted to become a nurse and that was November 15, 2017. I knew I always wanted to become a nurse since senior kindergarten but in 2017, I realized that this would be my dream job. My mother received an award from her work called “The Southlake Way Award”. I watched her give a speech about what nursing meant to her and at that moment I knew that nursing was the profession I wanted to go into. Watching her work as a nurse and becoming the manager of the emergency department at Southlake has inspired me to want to become a nurse. Although this might not be a big accomplishment that I have made in my life, this was the day I knew nursing was what I wanted to do. Constantly watching secondhand all the work that my mother does and how she cares for patients so gently is the biggest contributor to my decision to become a nurse. This artifact relates to nursing because on November 15, 2017, was the day I knew nursing was the job for me.
