Police Interactions (2021)
Sean Marushia
I use this video and the shorter version to teach my students about dealing with police. There are a lot of misconceptions still circulating about when police can and can’t search your person, car, or house. The practicalities here – what you can say, and what you shouldn’t – I hope this comes in handy later for my students.
- 10 Rules for Dealing with Police (Full-Length) (long version)
- “The CORRECT Way to Handle a Traffic Stop” (short version)
I also link them to outside resources from the ACLU that they can have handy: Know your rights: Stopped by Police
And one for non-citizens: WHAT TO DO IF YOU’RE STOPPED BY POLICE, IMMIGRATION AGENTS OR THE FBI
