Pour 1–2 cups (240–470 mL) of warm distilled water into a cup.. Mix the water with 1–3 US tbsp (15–44 mL) of white vinegar.. Slide new tubing or cooling lines into the valves at the end of the radiator.

Pour the distilled water into the radiator using a funnel.
Remove the tubes or lines and tighten the caps on the valves.
Shake the radiator firmly for 30-45 seconds.
Drain the radiator by pouring the water and vinegar into the sink.
Repeat this process with distilled water and let the radiator air dry.
Wipe down the exterior of the cast iron radiator with a dry rag.
Brush in between the pipes with a long wire brush.
Use a vacuum to lift pull the dirt and dust off of the radiator.
Scrub any rusty surfaces with steel wool and vinegar.
Set your radiator down outside in an area you don't mind getting wet.
Spray every surface of the radiator with a coil cleaner.
Wait 5-10 minutes for the coil cleaner to foam up on the fins.
Wash the radiator down with a hose or pressure washer.
